The Department of Sociology at the University of Haifa has become the focus of theoretical innovation undertaking research positioned at the forefront of the sociological scientific communities. Utilizing theoretical conceptualizations and advanced research methods, our faculty aims to provide responses to key questions pertaining to the social world, the way in which it is organized and the principles constituting everyday social life. Students at our department learn to methodically examine human society in order to identify general patterns in the behavior of individuals, groups and institutions and the relations between them.
As of 2018-2019 students can register for the Bachelor’s Degree in Two Years program. This includes a summer semester. Students with a psychometric score of at least 621 will be awarded scholarships.

- Weighted grade: 540 for day school, 500 for evening program
- For the Bachelor’s Degree in Two Years program— English at Basic level is required. A minimum grade of 120 is required in the YAEL—Hebrew Proficiency Test for candidates from non-Hebrew schools.
