The English Department is dynamic, growing, and constantly renewing and improving its programs. We offer a fully-accredited, three-year BA degree, as well as MA and Ph.D. programs. All lectures, readings, and assignments are in English. We take pride in our innovative programming and dedicated teaching, and our aim is to combine academic rigor with concern for the individual student. The department benefits from the University’s modern computerized library which houses an ever-expanding collection of research materials and facilities.

- Weighted grade of 600 or special admission conditions of the Faculty of Humanities
- Departmental entrance exam.
- Departmental English requirements : Candidates’ knowledge of English must meet the proficiency standards set at the level termed “Advanced A” + five units of English at matriculation, or ” Advanced B” level + 4 academic units in English at matriculation.
- Students of the Department can choose from a single major or a double major track.
- Digital Humanities Program combined with the Department of Information Systems—the admission requirements for both departments must be met (see departments’ websites)
Employment options upon graduation: Teaching in schools (for certified teachers), Master’s degree and research in the fields of linguistics and literature. Translation, writing and creative writing, literary criticism.
