Master’s degree in Music
The aim of the Master’s degree program in the Department of Music is to help the student in developing an independent thought and acquiring tools towards unique research and creation (composition). In addition, we encourage our students to work in a multi-disciplinary creative environment within the School of Arts. The Master’s program will develop significant theoretical knowledge on which the students will be able to base their future research and creative activities.
Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in the fields of music, musicology or music teaching – with a grade point average of 80
Departmental acceptance process, including the presentation of a portfolio according to the field of specialization. Suitable candidates will be invited to an interview which will include a presentation before the departmental Master’s degree committee.

The program has two study tracks
Track A: Includes writing a research paper – training students in one of three areas of specialization: Composition, historical musicology, contemporary music and cultures.
Track B: Without writing a research paper – broadening and deepening the professional training of students in a wide range of fields of interest.
Employment options after graduation: In the field of creative arts, performing arts, teaching in schools (for those holding a teaching certificate) and academic research.
