The Department’s teachings aim to provide students with a knowledge of history and an understanding of historical processes. Studies in the Department are on the political, social, economic, and cultural development of the European and American peoples, which derive from the ancient Greek and Roman legacies and from Christian culture. Also discussed are their links and contacts with other parts of the world.
