Ph.D in Asian Studies
The 21st century, also known as the Asian century, is not only the century in which China and India rose to prominence, but also the century which saw the rise of other parts of this continent, which is home to over half the world’s population. China is expected to overtake the USA and become the world’s largest economy in a few years.
Israel has diplomatic relations, and economic, military, technological, and scientific ties with most Asian countries. However, while Asia is becoming increasingly important to Israel and the Middle East in general, Israelis remain lacking in knowledge about Asian countries. Israel has an increasing need for scholars who are experts in Asian politics, Asian society, the Asian economy, and local Asian culture to meet the requirements of the private and public sectors as well as for academic research.
