Ph.D in Sociology
The Department of Sociology offers an examination of human society, mutual relations between humans, how they build and change their world, and the meaning of their organized institutions. Students will explore a wide variety of social issues relating to culture, economics, and politics in the context of global and local processes alike. Students will also study: social stratification and inequality; the army, state, and society; Israel’s wars; Arab society; LGBT relationships; organizations, labor organizations and labor relations, poverty and welfare policy; familial relations; social media, etc.
A Master’s degree with a grade point average of at least 85. A Master’s degree thesis with a grade of at least 86.
