The Sagol Department of Neurobiology offers a Ph.D. program.

This program is designed for outstanding Master’s degree graduates and puts an emphasis on integrative research ranging from the molecular and cellular level through the neural network to the behavioral level. The curriculum and research programs emphasize on interdisciplinary research from using advance molecular and electrophysiological methods to using brain scans and behavioral analysis.

Direct track to Ph.D.

Sagol Department of Neurobiology has a direct track to a Ph.D. This track is for outstanding students with a B.Sc. degree and a grade point average of at least 90. Students can transfer to the direct Ph.D. track after the first year of their Master’s degree program subject to the Ph.D. Regulations. Students in the direct Ph.D. track must complete a course quota of 36 weekly semester hours (a minimum of 26 actual weekly semester hours). Student in this track will submit their research proposals no later than the beginning of the fourth semester of their studies.

The program accepts outstanding students with an M.Sc. or equivalent degree that have written a thesis, in the fields of life sciences, psychology, or exact sciences, and whose thesis was approved. We accept students with a minimum overall grade point average of 85 in their Master’s degree and a minimum grade of 86 for their thesis.    Applicants with a Master’s degree from accredited universities abroad or from universities with branches in Israel operating under the approval of the Council of Higher Education, must pass the GRE.

Applicants must provide letters of recommendation from two members of academia, one of which is their Master’s degree thesis supervisor.
