Ph.D in Biblical Studies
Doctoral students can expand their knowledge of the cultural background of the biblical world and the impact of the Bible on Jewish creativity throughout the ages.
The Ph.D. program includes the study of biblical literature in the modern era; a history of the Biblical era (the Land of Israel and the Ancient Near East); Bible language and related languages; beliefs and ideologies; the biblical text; ancient translations; Jewish commentary; the Bible’s role in the history and culture of the Jewish People.
The Ph.D. program has two stages:
Stage I research student (up to 12 months)
Stage II research student
Post Ph.D. employment opportunities: Tourism, teaching in school, positions in museums, educating on Israel’s history and geography, academic teaching and research. Graduates also enter positions of research of Biblical Languages, and work closely with archaeologists.
