Learning period: Research track: Up to 3 years | Registration Status: Open for Fall semester 2019-2020 | Department web site
Oceans cover 70% of the earth’s surface. They are abundant with life and hold within them valuable natural resources that may be used as sources of food, energy, and medicines in future generations. Most oceans and seas, have not been researched yet, despite their great importance to the future of mankind. The Haifa University Department of Marine Biology offers interdisciplinary Master’s degree and Ph.D. programs that combine courses in marine biology, molecular biology, ecology, and oceanography, with field work and advanced laboratory research in various areas of marine biology. These studies will enable department graduates to use their knowledge and research skills to monitor the oceans, understand the processes of change taking place within them, and to guide decision-makers toward preserving the marine heritage and environment.
