Master’s degree in Cultural Studies
The Program for a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies is a multidisciplinary, diverse and innovative program. The Program aims to provide students with extensive knowledge of the various aspects of cultural discussion and research into various elements of modern culture: Pop music, pop culture, fine literature, “airplane books”, fashion, television and screen culture, digital culture, leisure and travel, erotica and sexuality, exercise and fitness clubs, sub-cultures and countercultures, architecture and urban culture, comics and science fiction. The program in Cultural Studies examines the interrelations between culture and art, culture and society, culture and human thought. The program is aimed at developing a deep understanding of cultural processes while studying the unique methodology of cultural studies. The program addresses, among other issues, the birth and charm of popular cultural heroes such as Tarzan, Rambo, Superman, James Bond, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Bar Refaeli, and it offers a rational perspective on the influence of major cultural leaders such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Anton Chekhov, Haim Nachman Bialik, Sasha Argov, Nagiv Mahfouz, Yona Wallach, Pablo Picasso, Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, Umm Kulthum and Fairuz.
Graduates of a Bachelor’s degree, with a grade point average of at least 80
