History of art is a wide academic field, that spans centuries and continents. The department of art history gives students an understanding of the history of Western culture and Islamic culture throughout the centuries. History of art is taught through a thorough analysis of paintings, sculptures, and architecture. Within their studies, students examine the link between historical and cultural events and works of art throughout the centuries and they acquire tools to develop their visual perception and critical thinking skills.
The department is very proud of the high quality teaching, the individual attention students receive, and the close and immediate relations between professors and students.

- General university admission requirements as specified on the website
- A 500 weighted grade or special admission requirements for the Faculty of Humanities.
- Department requirements in English: Only for the Psychodali program: candidates’ knowledge of English must meet the proficiency standards set at the level termed “Advanced A”.

- Digital Humanities Program combined with the Department of Information Systems—the admission requirements for both departments must be met (see departments’ websites).
Employment options upon graduation: Graduates can work in education, as museum guides, as curators, in tourism, in the media, in auction houses, and in the community.
